The annual Innovating Higher Education (I-HE)<\/em> Conference of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU)<\/strong><\/a> was held from 8 to 10 October 2025 in Hagen (Germany), focusing on \u201cRethinking Higher Education: Engage, Adapt, Include<\/strong><\/a>\u201c, attracting experts and academics from more than 25 countries. It provided an excellent context for the DAISSy Research Group<\/strong> of the Hellenic Open University (HOU)<\/strong>, to present important results of its projects and initiatives and to network with fellow academics from the EADTU network of members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HOU is a member of the EADTU and is always strongly involved in the I-HE<\/em> Conference. In this year\u2019s I-HE2025<\/em> DAISSy participated with two papers stemming from the ENCORE<\/em> and the 4C-Future<\/em> European research projects in which the Research Group participates. In addition, Achilles Kameas, Professor of the Faculty of Science & Technology of HOU and Director of DAISSy, chaired the \u201cDiversity and Inclusion<\/em>\u201d session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking into account that the I-HE2025<\/em> puts special emphasis on the role of networks driving educational innovation, it provided an excellent opportunity for the OpenEU European University Alliance members- a network of ten (10) European Open and Distance Learning Universities, where HOU is the member from Greece –  to meet, discuss and showcase its progress. Within this framework, HOU was represented by its Rector, Prof. Manolis Koutouzis, Prof. Achilles Kameas and other members of the HOU academic staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
