The OpenEU Alliance aims to establish a unified European Open University that will strengthen the digital, environmental, and social dimensions of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the event, participants were introduced to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>participation opportunities within the OpenEU Alliance activities;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the progress achieved and the results of the collaboration at the European level;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the policies shaping the Alliance&#8217;s common operational framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme featured a keynote presentation by the Rector of the Hellenic Open University, <strong>Professor<\/strong> <strong>Manolis Koutouzis,<\/strong> entitled &#8220;The Hellenic Open University in the OpenEU Alliance: Transformation and Added Value.&#8221; The HOU Scientific Coordinator of the OpenEU project, <strong>Professor Achilleas Kameas<\/strong>, also delivered an overview of the Alliance&#8217;s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the HOU OpenEU project team subsequently presented the opportunities for participation in the Alliance&#8217;s initiatives, while the OpenEU policies were presented by Professor Achilleas Kameas and Ms Vasiliki Katsina (.Deputy Institutional Coordinator, OpenEU Project \u2013 HOU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was attended by members of the wider HOU academic community, both in person at the University&#8217;s Premises and online via live streaming. The strong participation reflected the academic community&#8217;s growing interest in the OpenEU Alliance and reaffirmed the University&#8217;s ongoing commitment to fostering European collaboration and innovation in open and distance education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an active member of the OpenEU Alliance, the Hellenic Open University reaffirms its strategic role in shaping the future of higher
