The Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs and Outreach submits propositions on issues within his responsibilities to the Rector, the Administrative Council and the Senate. He supervises and ensures the proper functioning of the University’s academic units and coordinates all activities and collaborations on academic matters. He supervises, coordinates and makes recommendations on issues concerning academic programs, educational material and cooperation with other institutions. He supervises the Quality Assurance Unit (QAUT) of the University and coordinates the evaluation of all Academic Programs and other structures and functions. Additionally, he is chairman of the Graduate Studies Committee and advises on the strategic planning of the Institution’s postgraduate study programs. He supervises matters related to the organization and operation of the University’s libraries. He also recommends measures that ensure the promotion of gender equality and the fight against discrimination across the University.
He is responsible for the organization, coordination and supervision of the University’s initiatives towards internationalization and outreach. In cooperation with the Rector, he supervises European or international educational programs pertaining to the mobility of faculty members and other academic and administrative staff of the Institution. He supervises the operation of the Ethics Committee as its Chairman and sets up committees on issues that fall under his responsibilities.
