From 1/1/2018, the “Special Account for Research Funds” (ELKE) operates as a unit at the department level (MODY). It operates with a separate VAT number from the current one and the new unit operates as a special and universal continuation of EDEL. ELKE are now subject to the provisions of the new law 4485/2017.
Purpose of ELKE is the management and allocation of funds that come from any source, as well as from its own resources and are intended to cover expenses, of any kind, which are necessary for the needs of execution of research, educational, training, development, as well as continuing training projects, seminars and conferences, the provision of scientific, technological and artistic services, the preparation of specific and clinical studies, the performance of tests, measurements, laboratory tests and analyzes, the provision of opinions, the drafting of specifications on behalf of third parties, the design and implementation of scientific, research and development other related services, for the benefit of the University.
The projects / programs managed by E.L.K.E. are performed by Project Teams with a Scientific Officer (SC), who may be a member of the Faculty, as well as a member of the research staff of the research and technological bodies. An external collaborator can also be a scientific officer. The possibility to be some or all of the above categories of EV persons, as well as the more specific conditions are defined in the Management and Financing Guide of the relevant ELKE.
