On Wednesday 16/3/2022, the online event for the award of digital competence certifications of smart city executives took place within the framework of the SmartDevOps project (https://smartdevops.eu). The project “DevOps Competences for SmartCities” consortium consisted of 13 partners (4 from Greece, 3 from Germany, 3 from Italy, 2 from Cyprus and 1 from Belgium), including the Hellenic Open University (HOU) through the research team DAISSy. Its main goal was the professional development through appropriate training of executives who work or will work in Municipalities, which are gradually being transformed into Smart Cities. To achieve this goal, three new smart city professional profiles were identified and the key competencies for each profile were determined.
The event was honored by the presence and greetings of Professor Odysseas Zoras, President of Hellenic Open University, Professor Zisis Mamouris, Rector of University of Thessaly, Mr. Dimitrios Deligiannis, Deputy Mayor of Administration, Education and Education, Georgia Reboutsika, CEO of National Quality Infrastructure System and Odysseas Raptis, CEO of e-Trikala S.A.
The speakers of the event were Ms. Eugenia Lokana, Head of the Digital Capacities Department of EDYTE SA. / National Academy of Digital Capacities, which presented the training needs of executives and citizens in the cities and Mr. Panos Fitsilis, Professor of the Department of Administration at the University of Thessaly and coordinator of the project DevOps Competences for Smart Cities, who presented the new professions for the development of smart cities.
At the end of the event, were awarded certificates of professional training as well as certificates of attendance of seminars (for those who attended part of the overall program). A total of 36 certificates were awarded for the professional profile “Smart City Planner”, 8 for the profile “Smart City IT Manager”, and 24 for the profile “Smart City IT Officer”.
