The Chamber of Ilia and the DAISSy research group of Hellenic Open University organise a hybrid information event on “Vocational education in accessible Tourism”. The event will take place on Thursday, June 9, 2022 (from 11.00 to 14.00) in the event hall of the Chamber of Ilia (October 28 and Heroes Square, 4th floor, Pyrgos), but will also be broadcast online from the official YouTube channel of the Chamber of Ilia via the following link: https://tinyurl.com/2s4jcmtp. The event is organized in the framework of project “IN-TOUR – INclusive TOURism Professions. European Curricula for Accessible Tourism Manager and Frontline Staff”, which is funded by the European Union Erasmus + Program. The attendance is free and the participants physically present will receive a certificate of attendance from the Chamber of Ilia.
During the event there will be a presentation of the two European curricula and the respective professional profiles of the project, while the distinguished guests – speakers will develop topics related to the contribution of accessible tourism to tourism development, its interconnection with the cultural stock and the role of vocational training as a tool for professional development, but also as a link to employment policies. The IN–TOUR project aims to fill the gap in Europe’s accessible tourism education system and to equip managers and front-line staff working in the tourism sector through the definition of two professional profiles and the implementation two European curricula, with the necessary knowledge, skills and competences to provide appropriate services to clients in need of support.
