The Hellenic Open University (HOU) participated in the innovation competition Falling Walls Lab Greece, which took place on September 19, 2025, at the premises of HOU in Patras.
The Falling Walls Lab is an international platform for students and young professionals from all fields, offering them the opportunity to present their innovative ideas in just three minutes!
The event was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Education Mr. Nikolaos Papaioannou, the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, the Rector of HOU Mr. Manolis Koutouzis, the Deputy Regional Governor of Western Greece Mr. Charalambos Bonanos, the Secretary General for Research and Innovation Dr. Tasos Gaitanis, Ms. Bettina Beywl, representative of the Cultural Section of the German Embassy, and Ms. Vasiliki Frentzou, Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Greece.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the vision and innovations of OpenEU, receive informative material, and discuss with HOU staff about participation opportunities.
OpenEU’s participation in the competition highlighted the University’s commitment to promoting European cooperation, digital and green education, equal access to knowledge, and lifelong learning.
