The DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU) has been implementing the “ADMIT – Generative AI and LLM in Higher Education” European project,as the Greek partner, which aims at supporting the transition of Higher Education into the era of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
Within this framework and taking into account the completion of the second year of its implementation, the ADMIT project has achieved significant progress, with DAISSy-HOU being responsible for the production of critical tools, offered free of charge. Specifically, the Research Group led the creation of the “Guide of ethical use of LLM generative AI Systems in Higher Education”, that synthesizes international policies and research into eight ethical dimensions, offering measurable indicators for responsible AI adoption. Additionally and based on the project’s ethical taxonomy, DAISSy-HOU developed the innovative “Institutional Self-Assessment Tool”, an online tool that allows Universities to evaluate their current level of GenAI usage through 99 targeted questions.
It is noteworthy, that the ADMIT consortium is committed to producing practical solutions that support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in adopting AI in a pedagogically sound, transparent, and ethical manner.
