The OpenEU Democracy Festival invites researchers, practitioners, students, and storytellers to submit proposals for talks, workshops, and conversations that explore democracy as a lived human practice — from the psychology of listening to the design of democratic workplaces, from digital futures to the languages we speak and the cultures we share.
This is not a conference. We are looking for fresh provocations, honest stories, and ideas that make people think, talk back, and see things differently. Proposals must be non-partisan, accessible to a broad audience, and aligned with EU core values: human dignity, freedom, equality, the rule of law, and human rights.
We welcome submissions from all disciplines and career stages, across all 10 OpenEU universities and beyond.
Please read the attached document before submitting your proposal
The festival dates are October 23rd to 25th
Submission deadline: May 30, 2026.
