The Vice-Rector is responsible for proposing matters of his competence to the Rector, the Management Council and the Senate, he is responsible for the organization, coordination and supervision of the University’s research policy, innovation, know-how and entrepreneurship. He chairs the Research Committee of the Hellenic Open University, , while he heads the Special Account of Research Funds of the Hellenic Open University. In addition, he represents the Foundation in entering into financing contracts with third parties for the execution of projects and activities of ELKE, as well as all matters related to the organization and operation of the E.L.K.E. of the Hellenic Open University, as specifically defined in the relevant provisions. He supervises the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit (INU) and finally, he sets up committees to study or process matters that fall within his competence.
