Dear all,
As the first Rector of HOU, it is both a pleasure and an honor to welcome you to our University’s website. In particular, I would like to address our students and thank them for their trust and dedication to our University.
HOU is a University which, in addition to the high quality of both academic programs and research activity, is also characterized by its strong commitment to the principles of open education: ensuring inclusive and equitable access to knowledge, without barriers or exclusions. These values have shaped our identity and contributed to our academic recognition, both within Greece and internationally. Our University currently has 40,000 active students, while its graduates exceed 80,000 worldwide. HOU is now a high-quality University with nationwide reach and, at the same time, an outward-looking institution. These achievements have certainly played a key role in its path towards self-governance and continuous development.
Therefore, with a strong sense of responsibility, we are committed to maintain the legacy of the Institution. In collaboration with the Vice-Rectors and the University Council, we will put all our efforts in order to make the most of our people, explore our opportunities and increase the University’s momentum. We will face all challenges and difficulties, and I am confident that we will lead the Hellenic Open University towards new paths of growth.
With everyone’s contribution, HOU will continue to be an open, innovative, dynamic, outward-looking, and high-quality University.
