HOU > Anouncements > Latest > DAISSy-HOU on the “World Cities Day”

The United Nations (UN) has designated October 31st as the World Cities Day, aiming at promoting cooperation among nations in seizing opportunities and addressing challenges during the transition toward sustainable urban development on a global scale.

The DAISSy Research Group of Hellenic Open University (HOU) works systematically over time fostering equality, access to services, the creation of new opportunities, and the active participation of citizens, while respecting the diversity of cities and societies. Examples of such successful actions in recent years are important european co-funded projects where DAISSy-HOU participates as the only Greek entity in international consortia. Indicatively, such European projects are the “Blueprint for SMARt COmmunities’ Skills Development in Europe” (SMARCO), the “Open Data City Officer” (OpenDCO) and the “Smart City Asean Learning Network” (SCALE).

DAISSy-HOU works continuously so as to achieve a consistent contribution towards fostering collaborative action for enabling cities, and communities more broadly, to become inclusive, safe, and sustainable, while ensuring a human-centric approach.
