The annual Innovating Higher Education (I-HE) Conference of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU) was held from 8 to 10 October 2025 in Hagen (Germany), focusing on “Rethinking Higher Education: Engage, Adapt, Include“, attracting experts and academics from more than 25 countries. It provided an excellent context for the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), to present important results of its projects and initiatives and to network with fellow academics from the EADTU network of members.
The HOU is a member of the EADTU and is always strongly involved in the I-HE Conference. In this year’s I-HE2025 DAISSy participated with two papers stemming from the ENCORE and the 4C-Future European research projects in which the Research Group participates. In addition, Achilles Kameas, Professor of the Faculty of Science & Technology of HOU and Director of DAISSy, chaired the “Diversity and Inclusion” session.
Taking into account that the I-HE2025 puts special emphasis on the role of networks driving educational innovation, it provided an excellent opportunity for the OpenEU European University Alliance members- a network of ten (10) European Open and Distance Learning Universities, where HOU is the member from Greece – to meet, discuss and showcase its progress. Within this framework, HOU was represented by its Rector, Prof. Manolis Koutouzis, Prof. Achilles Kameas and other members of the HOU academic staff.
