The “AI-Driven Open Science: A Curriculum for Research and Innovation (AIOS)” Europeanproject is a new initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and the National Coordination Unit of the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), aiming at strengthening Open Science through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is currently undergoing by the DAISSy Research Group of the Hellenic Open University (HOU), Greek partner, and emphasizes on supporting higher education institutions, researchers, educators and innovation organisations in adopting more transparent, collaborative and accessible research practice.

DAISSy-HOU is strongly involved in all activities of the AIOS project, playing an important role in developing related digital tools and the educational ecosystem. Drawing on its long-standing experience in open distance education and in implementing European projects with success, the Research Group contributes to the creation of innovative educational resources and the implementation of piloting activities. Furthermore, DAISSy-HOU is thoroughly involved in evaluating the project results and disseminating them – through the intense networking it maintains at national, European and international level – safeguarding their long-term sustainability.

AIOS is a three-year project (01.03.2026–28.02.2029), coordinated by the University of Thessaly, and the consortium comprises five (5) partners from four (4) European countries (Greece, Italy, Norway and Ukraine).
