Stasinos Stavrianeas is Assistant Professor at the School of Humanities, Hellenic Open University. He studied philosophy and social sciences at the University of Crete and the University of Edinburgh. He taught at the Philosophy Dept, University of Patras (2005-2022) His research is focused on ancient Greek philosophy and science and especially on aristotelian natural philosophy and biology and the Hippocratic medicine. He is the author of a modern Greek translation and commentary on Aristotle’s Parts of Animals. He is the editor Aristotle on How Animals Move: The de Incessu Animalium: Text, Translation, and Interpretative Essays (Cambridge University Press, 2021) and of the volume Philosophy and Medicine in Ancient Greece (Crete University Press, in print).
