The MA Programme in “Performing Arts” (PAT) aims at the theoretical study and research analysis of performing arts across both their temporal range, from antiquity to the present, and their thematic range, thereby providing students with the opportunity for an in-depth critical approach to the subject by offering three specializations and an extensive array of Modules.

The Modules, which branch out into three specializations, are based on thematic material from numerous divisions of the performing arts, such as performance studies, ancient and world theatre, history and theory of dance, lyric theatre, contemporary forms of performance, etc. In addition, included are subjects that are inextricably linked to the field of performing arts and culture in general (e.g., education, cultural policy and management, information technology).
